This is useful to use alongside MXAO since you have to turn the in-game edge smoothing off for it.Ĭartoon: Kinda gives an outline to objects. Less effective than SMAA, but SMAA doesn’t work when you have some other Reshade settings active. When you use this, you have to turn off edge-smoothing and post processing for it to work.įXAA: Edge smoothing/ anti-aliasing. It basically gives some depth to pictures.
Here is an explanation of them if you don’t know what they are:ĭOF: This makes the background blurred and the foreground object not blurred. The ones I bolded are what I use in most of my Reshade presets. No settings are important, as it’s just what you prefer.
These Reshade settings were used: DOF, FXAA, SMAA, MXAO, Cartoon, DPX, Gaussian Blur, Clarity, Curves, Levels, Ambient Light, and Bloom. *toggled off so the preset is UI-friendly, on to take pictures. This (Sims 4) picture ^ above was taken with Reshade 3.0.8 and then only resized and sharpened in PS.
all these options are toggled off by default. 4 - filmic pass / 5 - ambient light* / 6 - CA (3d effect). 7 - magic dof / 8 - ring dof / 9 - ambient occlusion (mxao). You can toggle on/off some of the effects through some shortcuts set on the numeric keyboard (the one on the right, not the top), they are: my tip is: press tab > press shift+f2 to show reshade settings just so u can point where to focus with the mouse > press it again to hide reshade settings > take your pic. dof is mouse driven (got the idea from pickypikachu), meaning it’ll focus where the mouse is pointed. this can get real heavy on your PC, so don’t even install mxao and dof if you think they’re too much for you (i told u to read that thingy b4). you can replace that with FXAA (lighter) and/or SMAA (heavier) from ReShade settings. for DOF and MXAO to work, edge smoothing and post processing from the game settings have to be turned off. i’m using brntwaffles’ astral lights mod, so your game may look different than mine. more comparisons here / download & notes under the cutĭownload: patreon (free) (updated jan 22th 2022). I’d really appreciate if you guys tagg’d me on your posts if you use this so I can see what you come up with :3 For some people it can be too strong for gameplay, tho. It makes everything brighter and with more life.
I’m not sure if it’ll be ok for you guys, but this is the one I use for gameplay.
